The beautiful West Dorset coastline and
countryside is easily accessible from the M27, the A303 and M5.
In 2006 the area was designated a World
Heritage Site due to the preponderance of fossils dating from
the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Centres at Charmouth
and Lyme Regis provide excursions to discover and explore this
heritage and there are many Heritage Coast Centres and museums.
Along the local coast there are 7 easily accessible recreational
beaches and for those who enjoy walking the coastal path affords
some of the most magnificent views comparable to anywhere in
the world. |
